Teaching services

Whether you've never touched an instrument before or are well along your way to confident mastery of your craft, I can offer exercises, approaches and insights that will help you see your musical skills in a new light.

The beginning musician needs, more than anything else, an introduction to his own innate abilities, confidence and creativity. This is gained by dedicated adherence to musical structures balanced with sessions of free exploration of his skills. Additionally, he simply needs to become familiar with his instrument through sustained, regular practice. By offering suggestions and guidance in this sometimes precarious early period, the beginning student can develop confidence and skill.

As the student develops, understanding of structure and music theory gain in importance, as well as developing physical adeptness and mental sharpness. This can be a long, challenging period, during which it may feel that no progress is being made. The truth of the matter is that the mind is forging new, deep connections, and continual practice is the only way to strengthen these bonds.

This is where the mystery of the process lies. Sometime during this journey, mastery develops. Tenth Choir Music can contribute to this development through lessons, practice materials, and, most importantly, moral support and guidance.

No human being can describe to another the feeling of being so enmeshed with music that there is no distinction between the muse's and the mortal's voice. The most that one can say about it is that all the hours of working, playing, studying, practicing, listening and contemplating were, without any doubt, worth the investment.

Student satisfaction is far and away my greatest concern. I am committed to providing the best possible service, and will do everything in my power to provide it.
